Cardiology Update: Another Dream Come True...meet Daniel Martin Diaz

Donc un autre de mes rêves est devenu réalité. Mon artiste préféré, Daniel Martin Diaz fait la pochette d'album pour Cardiology. J'ai été inspiré par son travail depuis pas mal d'années et je suis assez chanceux pour avoir accroché quelques tableaux chez moi. Je pourrais continuer à vous en parler mais allez sur son site web où vous pourrez lire son histoire et voir son travail (www.DanielMartinDiaz.com). Il a été une source d'inspiration et m'influence depuis longtemps. Alors j'ai décidé que je devrais au moins tendre la main et lui demander s'il accepterai de mettre son art sur Cardiology, je me suis toujours bougé. J'ai donc tenté le coup, à l'aveuglette avec un e-mail, et il m'a répondu le lendemain ! Nous avons parlé au téléphone ce soir là pendant une heure et je lui ai tout expliqué, à quel sujet, de l'histoire, d'où j'en étais dans la vie en ce moment.

Daniel était si cool, et nous avons constaté que nous étions dans le même état d'esprit. Il m'a dit qu'il avaient besoin d'entendre la premier chanson, donc lui et sa femme ainsi que son fils sont sortis et ont trainer avec moi dans le studio. Il aimait ce qu'il entendait et m'a dit qu'il pouvait le faire mentalement. Il a été vraiment cool car lui et sa famille sont venu chez moi et ont vu les peintures que j'avais de lui. Peux tu imaginer être un peintre, passer des semaines sur un tableau, puis devoir lui dire adieu à tout jamais ? C'est une folle pensée pour moi.
J'ai eu un bon feeling avec lui. Si quelqu'un a lu mes Tweets récemment, ce n'est qu'un exemple. Moi et Daniel sommes de deux mondes, et j'ai juste pris un coup dans le noir et maintenant mon artiste préféré fait la pochette de mon album de GC que je préfére. Je me sens vraiment reconnaissant. Il est certain que se sera la meilleure pochette d'un album de GC. Merci Daniel !

Je viens du studio, j'ai trainé avec Don et écouté le 1er des 5 mixes presque achevé. L'album devrait être mixé dans le courant de la semaine prochaine. C'est si fou de penser que c'est fait. Je m'y rendrais cette semaine et je ferai quelques versions acoustiques de quelques chansons et peut être une cover ou 2.
Malheureusement nous en avons besoin pour la face B et en faire des exclusivités, donc je ne sais pas si je serais en mesure de les publier. PEUT EEEEEEEEETRE que je ferais une cover spéciale pour la mettre sur le blog. je ne peux pas le promettre, mais il y a des chansons definitives que je veux vraiment faire en cover.

Ok bon, je devrais vous dire des nouvelles choses pour la pochette de l'album et vous dire que c'est interessant et impressionnant des personnes comme DMD et sa famille. Allez vraiment consulter son site Web et si vous habitez à Montréal, il y a une representation en juin. JE SUIS VRAIMENT MAL. Alors, allez y pour moi et prenez beaucoup de photos ! Vous ne pouvez pas savoir les gars comme je suis reconnaissant d'avoir pu faire ce disque et la façon dont la GCFAM m'a soutenu et m'a encouragé, ça a été impressionnant. J'ai vraiment l'impression que pendant que nous faisions Cardiology, aussi longtemps que cela nous a prit, que nous nous sommes reconnectés, reliés de façon inconsidérable. Je n'ai jamais été aussi heureux et fier d'être dans GC. J'aime ma vie. Je vous remercie. J'espère que vous êtes tous bien et comme toujours MERCI DE REPRESENTER.

So another dream of mine has come true. My favorite artist in the world- Daniel Martin Diaz- is doing the Album artwork for Cardiology. I have been inspired by his work for years and i am lucky enough to have some of it hanging in my home. I could go on and on about DMD, but i think you should all go check out his website where you can read his story and see his work. www.DanielMartinDiaz.com He has been inspiring and influencing me for a long time. So i decided that if i didn't atleast reach out and ask him if he would consider doing the art for Cardiology i would always kick myself. So i just reached out, blindly with an email, and he responded the next day! we talked on the phone that night for like an hour and i told him all about the record what it was all about and kind of the story of where my life was at right now.

Daniel was so cool, and we found that we were really kind of on the same trip. He said he needed to hear the music first, so He and his wife and son came out for a day and hung out with me at the studio. He loved what he heard and told he would be psyched to do it! It was also really cool to bring him and his family to my house so e could see the paintings of his that i have and kind of revisit them. Can u imagine being a Painter, spending weeks on a painting and then having to say good by to it forever? Such a crazy thought to me.

I had such a good hang with him. If anyone has been reading my Posi-tweets lately, this is just one example. Me and Daniel are worlds apart, and i just took a shot in the dark and now MY Absolute Favorite artist is doing the Art for My absolute Favorite GC record. I'm feeling really

greatful. It is sure to be the best GC album Cover EVER. Thanx Daniel!!!

I just came from the studio, hung out with Don and listened to the 1st 5 nearly finished mixes. the record should be done being mixed by the end of next week. SO CRAZY to think it's done!!! I am gonna go in this week and do a few acoustic versions of some songs and maybe a cover or 2. Unfortunately we NEED them for B sides and exclusives so i don't know if i will be able to Post them. But Mayyyyyyyybe i will do a special cover to put up on the Blog. can't promise, but there are def a couple songs i really want to cover.

Ok so i had to come tell you guys the Great news about the Album art and tell you what interesting and awesome people DMD and his family are. Make sure you check out his website and if you Live in Montreal, he has a show coming up there in JUNE. I WANT TO GO REALLY BAD. SO go for me and take lots of PICTURES!! Can't tell you guys how greatful i feel to have been able to make this record and the way the #GCFAM has supported and encouraged me has been awesome. I really feel like during the making of CARDIOLOGY as long as it took, WE ALL really RECONNECTED. in A BIG way. I have never ever been so Happy and Proud to be in GC. I love My LIFE. So thank YOU.
